The Residence has been designed to blend with the landscape, sitting on the hill like a traditional local village with a Grand Hall of the People, courtyards and passages that gives access to several small buildings hosting bedrooms, living rooms, library, calligraphy room, suites etc. The hierarchic structure of the voids and masses preserves the intimacy of the residents. Built with traditional wooden techniques, black brick walls and using old Taihu paving stones as well as grey clay floor tiles protected with Tung Oil, the residence is a contribution to contemporary Chinese Architecture.
