THE HOUSE OF ARTS AND CULTURE

The project is a public space that links a boulevard to the old city of Beirut. A covered garden is inserted between the elements of the program. A sculpted ground is composed of the main hall, services, shops and the grand theatre which has a stage that can be opened to face the piazza at the North of the site. Above the garden, an ancient language pattern perforates a solid box where one can find exhibition spaces, a cinema, a library, a cafeteria and offices. It is floating above the City, mysterious and open.
Project realized in collaboration with Imane Achir, Bertrand Le Garrec and Mathieu Lucas architects DPLG.
Programme: Grand theatre and conference room 800 seats. Cinema, 200 seats, a small theatreĀ  250 seats, exhibition spaces, cafeteria and common areas, shop, library and administration
